Wave's largest signup was the free accounting user. When signing up for Wave, users would connect their bank to take advantage of free accounting. If a business later adopted another Wave product such as Payments or Payroll, they were required to connect their bank again. Each time.
The goal of Central Banking was to connect your bank once, and use it across Wave's products and services. Central Banking created a seamless upgrade path to Payments and Payroll for the free Accounting user.
