Design Systems

Wave 2017 - 2021

Untitled

Background

At Wave the design system was at an early stage. How might we level up design system adoption, increase design system awareness, and improve design quality.

Role

I was the design systems designer and advocate responsible for understanding how other designers worked across the organization. After interviewing and analyzing the design experience, and learning how designers understood each part of their design process, I led a workshop to come up with a series of solutions to improve design system adoption.

Central Banking

Wave 2017 - 2021

Untitled

Background

The SVP of Product asked me to work on Central Banking, a platform team. It was a good challenge for me to take on so I accepted.

Transaction import errors were the top user complaint for years. Also, bank connections were not transferable or accessible across the ecosystem as users adopted more products. Users were required to connect their bank again, for every product. This resulted in a redundant and disconnected user experience with product adoption over time.

Role

I was the sole product designer on a team where I worked with a product manager on scope and prioritization. I worked closely with an engineering manager and 4 engineers to ensure constraints were managed, technical feasibility was scoped, and interoperability was possible. I worked with a content strategist and customer support on language and communication.

I was responsible for designing the user experience to migrate users over to our new bank connection provider. This would reduce transaction import errors and allow users to connect their bank once, and use it across all products across the ecosystem. I created prototypes and conducted user research and testing to deliver this experience to users.
